ARH Recognized for Quality
Alleghany Regional Hospital has been recognized by the Virginia Business Coalition on Health for the hospitals commitment to quality and for fully meeting the National Quality Foundation Safe Practices Leap. At a presentation to members of the Virginia Busienss Coalition of Health Roundtable, Tim Tobin, CEO, Alleghany Regional, attributed the hospitals success in these areas to the overall commitment of the entire hospital team, effective communication among team members concerning quality, excellent collaboration between the physicians and staff, and the effective monitoring and reporting of quality findings.
The LeapFrog Group looks at 27 categories of safe practices for hospitals. The categories cover such areas as Safety Culture, Communication Among Health Care Workers, Doctor and Patient Communications, Infection Prevention, Medication Error Prevention and Complication and Mistake Prevention. Of the 27 categories ARH met the highest measure in 24 of the categories.
